The Chairman, Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong has said that the state government was poised to sign an agreement with the United States of America in the area of entrepreneurship and youths empowerment in the state.
Lalong stated this to newsmen last Friday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja shortly after returning from United States of America where he attended the 2019 convention of Zumunta Association of Northern Nigeria in Diaspora.
He mentioned that, while in America he interfaced with Northerners in the Diaspora to allay the fears among Nigerians that there were a lot of crises in Northern States of Nigeria. He said this has become a serious challenge at moment hence the need to address it in order to woo investors and enhance development.
According to him, there were a lot of measures being put in place to address the issue of almajiris and education in the region, noting that with the similarity in terms of weather and environment as well as the varieties of agriculture product, especially in Plateau State, there was a lot of opportunities abound in the state.
He also said they would continue to get in touch with the Northerners in Diaspora to create a link of communication to bring their businesses down home.
