The Kogi State government has promised to embark on massive free medical treatment for citizens as part of its effort to boost primary healthcare delivery across rural communities in the state.
The commissioner for Health, Dr. Saka Haruna made the promise at the Free Medical outreach intervention programme held at Idah, headquarters of Idah Local Area of Kogi state.
Dr. Saka Haruna noted that the Free Medical outreach programme was initiated by the present administration of governor Yahaya Bello to reduce the Heath needs of ordinary people across the state.
He explained that the exercise which is a continuous one would reach all the nooks and crannies of the rural areas, adding that alot of health intervention have been achieved under the health programme of the present administration.
The commissioner urged the people to avail themselves of the opportunity and turn out enmasse for the treatment of their illness.
Also speaking , the team leader for the doctors, Dr. Isah Bananas explained that those with critical condition such as operations would be referred to General Hospitals for free treatment under the health intervention programme, adding that the doctors would work tirelessly to treat those with various degree of illness.
Some beneficiaries expressed delight with Governor Yahaya Bello for coming to their aid to reduce their suffering and pledged total support to his administration .
