The Keffi Development Foundation (KDF) has established a Rehabilitation Centre in Keffi that would take care and correct the youths/women especially those who indulge in drugs abuse and other social misconducts.

Already, all the necessary building/structures and fencing have been erected while equipment that would be used for that purpose have put in place for the proper execution of the youths rehabilitation, and correction  programmes,

The President of the foundation, Alhaji Abubakar Madaki who made the disclosure during the one-day symposium organized by the Coalition of Keffi Youths and Students at the assembly hall of the Nasarawa State University Keffi stated that a qualified Medical Doctor and other associated staff are being engaged by the foundation to take care of the proposed rehabilitation centre.

According to him, the efforts was parts of the foundation’s contributions towards addressing the growing cases of moral decadence amongst the youths especially drug abuse which he said efforts must be intensified by all stakeholders to stem the tide.

He explained that the proposed centre would apart from counseling, rehabilitating and correcting the youths against all sorts of social ills, would also engage in the training of some skills acquisition programmes to enable them boost both their productive and creative capacities and later become self-reliant and useful members of the society.

Madaki believed that the bold steps taken by the foundation would go a long way in keeping the youths away from indulging in anti-social vices which he lamented has not only dented their good images but has affected their productive efforts and contributions to the socio-economic well-being of the country.

He therefore advised that youths especially those who indulge in all forms of anti-social vices to retrace their steps and turn-over to a new leaf stressing that it is their duty to build a great future for themselves.

The KDF President then expressed his gratitude to the youths coalition and students for organizing the symposium which he describes as timely and worth emulating by all other youths organizations in the area, the state and the country at large.

Meanwhile, youths organizations have been advised to team-up with politicians that have youths friendly progremmes and agenda especially those that would build on their creativities production capacities so as to make them self-reliant through skills acquisitions and other useful ventures.

A lecturer with the Department of Public Administration in the Nasarawa State University Keffi, Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed gave the advice while speaking during a one day symposium organized by the coalition of Keffi youths and students at the Assembly Hall of the Nasarawa State’s University Keffi during the weekend.

He stated that the youths should only focus on people and areas that would make them self-reliant and useful members of the society especially that they have their future to build as such they should build it well and sound for them to benefit.
