The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen in company of the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Ifeoma Anagbogu and other Directors and has inspected the Ministry ‘s new building in Abuja.

Dame Tallen who inspected the first floor of the building to the last floor, expressed a lot of satisfaction on completion of the project, adding that the building was 95% completion.

The Minister however directed contractors to complete the finishing touches on the building by the end of August, 2019, so that the Ministry would move in latest by 1st September, 2019.

The Contractor who was on site promised the Minister that by the end of August there would be a 100% completion and the Ministry can move in.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Women Affairs Dame Pauline Tallen has disclosed that the ministry would move to its new office complex situated at the Central Business District, Abuja.

Addressing newsmen shortly after inspecting the new office complex in company of top functionaries of the ministry, Dame Tallen thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for providing the funds to complete the office. She said that the present office is not a convenient place for staff of the Ministry to put in their best.

Mrs. Tallen said that of late, the old office has experienced periodic lack of water thereby making the environment very uncomfortable.

“Jamtors and other cleaners have to work extra miles in order to supply water to clean the place. All the hardship will now be a thing of the past” she said. The Minister commended the contractor for quality work.

The Permanent Secretary Mrs. Ifeoma Anagbogu, who accompany the Minister on the tour said that the project started about four years ago.

She said that the complex is a five story building with about fifty officers, three conference rooms, kitchens, restaurants and guess waiting rooms.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Ifeoma Anagbogu said that the complex is a master piece that will make the Nigerian women proud.

In a another development the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen has said that the ministry would resume the suspended remittance of subvention to the National Council for Women Societies, (NCWS).

The Minister said this when the National President led members of the council to pay her a courtesy visit in her office in Abuja, Tuesday, 27th August, 2019.

Mrs. Tallen said the visit came at an appropriate time when the ministry was putting its 2020 budget together. She said that she would ensure that a provision is made for the NCWS in the ministry’s 2020 Appropriation Act.

According to her, “the Ministry will monitor every single kobo given to the NCWS to ensure that it is judiously spend”.

The Minister said that her administration would focus on the girl-child education and mentoring of young female politicians. Tallen said that a high level technical committee was on the way to take Nigeria to its next level. She called on women to monitor their wards in order to guide them against social vices.

Mrs. Tallen promised to work together with the NCWS to ensure that Nigerian women take their rightful place in society.

The Minister said that women were the engine that keeps the family together and charged them to give her their total support to enable her work hard to restore the lost glory of women. Dame Tallen thanked the president and members of the NCWS for their support.
