A governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), for the November 16 gubernatorial polls in Kogi state, Dr. Samuel Alfa says he is on rescue mission to advance functional development that had eluded the state under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The AA candidate who gave the assurance Wednesday, at a press parley organized by the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), pointed out that his development partners are ready to bring in direct foreign investments that will galvanize the state to greatness.
According to him, the position of a governor will accord him the greater opportunity to harness human and material resources for the development of the state.
He promised that if elected governor in the forthcoming election, his focus will include unity, collaboration, and partnership of the Kogites, which will results in the transformation of the state.
He also promised empowerment of the next generation of Kogi state for community development stressing that the era of political thuggery must end during his tenure as governor of the state.
Dr. Alfa advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by unscrupulous politicians before, during and after election adding that any serious government will always empower the youths by providing skills acquisition and functional education resources.
The governorship hopeful who hold a PHD in philosophy and other degrees promised to move the education sector from the analog to digital that will enable students to acquire modern technology that will make them competitive across the globe.
He added that the type of education he envisioned for the state is premise on the acronym of STEM+A). Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Arts which he hoped would impact the needed skills on students to affect positively on the overall development of the state.
Alfa while reiterating his desire to making healthcare, Agriculture, Education and inclusive governance the priority of his administration said he will restore the dignity of teachers whom he noted are the agents of academic change all over the world.
He called on the people of the state not to allowed money bag politicians to alter their choice of candidate warning them not to mortgage the future generations.
