From GYANG PAM, Yola

Two Senators who wanted to return to the red chambers have failed in their bid to do so as the Election Tribunal sitting in Yola, the Adamawa State capital has ruled against them.

The Senators are Binta Masi Garba of the APC and Abubakar Mo Alahiyidi (APC) both representing Adamawa North and Adamawa South Senatorial zones respectively, who could not prove that the issues they raised were strong enough to cast out those who took their seats in the senate.

Chairman of the Tribunal, S.B. Akanbi who read the decisions on behalf of Justice S. Akinbiyi and Dalha B. Ahmed said the grounds they claimed were not enough to grant their prayers.

Therefore the incumbent senators are smiling back to their seats at the red chamber; they are Binos Yaro (PDP) and Cliff Ishaku Abbo (PDP) respectively.

Our Correspondent in Yola reports that Abdulrazak Namdas (APC) of the House of Representatives was also returned after the petition against him by Muktar Abubakar of the PDP did not see the light of the day.

THE NIGERIA STANDARD also reports that shortly after the judgments, supporters of the winners were full of joy while the losers’ supporters wore gloomy faces.

While counsels to the PDP candidates expressed satisfaction with the judgments describing it as justice to the common man, those of the petitioners said they will study the cases critically with a view to filing appeals.
