President Muhammed Buhari has directed that the Market-moni and Trader Moni free interest loan scheme be expanded to cover more rural communities in the country with a view to provide the rural dwellers particularly those with small capital base to improve their business and socio-economic well-beings.

The Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo made the disclosure while flagging off the distribution ceremony of the loan scheme to the traders during the week in old Keffi Market, Nasarawa State.

He stated that the market moni and trade moni scheme would be extended to cover all states in the country to enable more people access the loan facility.

“We want to assure you that we are going to do more as President Muhammedu Buhari has directed us to expand the scheme so that those that not benefit from the Market moni and Trader Moni would have the opportunity to do so”, he said.

Osinbajo however tasked the beneficiaries to ensure prompt payment to enable them access more and others to access the interest free loan facility.

THE NIGERIA STANDARD reports that the Vice President was accompanied in the distribution of the loan scheme by the Governor of the state Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the Minister of State Science and Techology Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Hassan, Keffi Local Governments chairman Alhaji Mohammed Sani Marigiro among other dignitaries.

Responding, the Chairman, Traders and Marketing Associates, Keffi Local Government Council chapter, Alhaji Rabo Nababa thanked the Federal Government for what he described as a wonderful and good initiative to assist especially the small scale traders to boost their activities.

He assured that on their parts they would ensure adequate utilization of the free interest loan scheme and prompt payment for re-accessing and to enable others to benefit too
