Nasarawa State Government has reinstated its commitment to partner Oriental Energy Resources on foreign scholarship to the indigenes of the state.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State stated this on Monday in Lafia at the flag off of training and empowerment programme for youths on bricks making.

According the Governor Sule, the management of the company had contacted him and made offer of 20 slots of foreign scholarship to the state.

“They have offered 20 slots of foreign scholarship to our state to be given to youths to study in different field of studies in foreign countries.

“So, we appreciate the company for the offer and we are working out modalities to select beneficiaries.

“We would give the slots to the poorest of poor across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state who do not have hope of traveling abroad for studies,” the governor added.

Governor Sule directed the state ministry of Education to commence the process of the selection immediately to gets youths who are brilliant and had performed well in O-level.

“I would personally supervise the selection process to ensure compliance,” the governor added.

He therefore assured the public that the government would continue unlock opportunities towards focusing on human capital development.
