In keeping faith with the expansion of the church evangelism, the President Church of Christ in Nation (COCIN), Rev. Dr, Dachollom C. Datiri has charged the newly inaugurated Regional Church Council (RCC) Kabong, Jos to focus on winning more souls for Christ.
Rev. Dr, Datiri gave the charged while performing the inauguration of the RCC Kabong Jos, at the COCIN Local Church Council (LCC) Kabong, the RCC headquarters, last Saturday.
He said the inauguration of RCC Kabong Jos has brought to 86 RCCs in COCIN, adding that they were still up holding the evangelism legacy that were left behind by Karl-Kumm who came and landed in Wase Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State in 1904.
The COCIN President described the occasion as very unique, remarkable and prophetic one, adding that RCCS were given for the advancement of evangelism while on earth.
Rev. Dr, Datiri while congratulated the new RCC Kabong, Jos and its executive council said that the new RCC has the prospect of growing fast both spiritual and physically.
He noted that the Church can grow well only when the proper gospel of Christ were preached to the people, urging the new RCC Kabong, Jos to serve as a pacesetter and role model in evangelism amongst the RCCs in COCIN.
He commended the RCC Jos for giving birth to the newly inaugurated RCC, saying that the new RCC should also be given space to think and plan before its final take off in January 2020.
The COCIN President advised E.C, RCC Kabong, Jos to remain faithful and transparent in whatever they do, in order to yield good results while discharging their duties and prayed God to lead and direct them at all times.
He called on the entire COCIN family to take the discipleship programme serious, saying that it still remained one of the cardinal key areas that should not be missing amongst Christians.
The COCIN President shortly after performing the Oath of Office to the EC, RCC Kabong Jos presented COCIN constitution, bye-laws and Holy Bible among others.
Earlier in his welcoming remarks, Chairman RCC Jos, Rev. Gyang Y. Bot expressed hope and thanked God for marking another historic event of given birth to another new RCC, which has indicated that the Church was growing spiritually.
Guest Preacher on the occasion, Rev. Markus Musa whose sermon centered on “Gospel of Christ, the heart of evangelism and key determinant for church growth” appreciated the church for choosing him to speak.
Rev. Musa who took his sermon from both new and old testaments said that the people were now busy changing the gospel because of it contend, just to suite them saying that the expansion of the church like the was not for position, but to winning more souls for Christ through evangelism.
He added that if the new RCC Kabong Jos must grow, then it must not be afraid of preaching the gospel to the people, saying that anyone who is not living Christ life was yet to be a disciple, adding that everyone would be judge according to his or her deed
In a vote of thanks, the new Chairman RCC Kabong Jos, Rev. Zac E.M Darah expressed happiness and thanked the COCIN President for finding them worthy to serve in their various capacities as the newly inaugurated as the executive council for the RCC.
Rev. Darah affirmed that their desire was to promote the gospel of Christ and to also strengthen the work of the gospel and prayed God to help them especially on the task given them.
Our correspondent reports that the Executive Council members inaugurated were; Rev. Zac E.M. Darah, Chairman; Rev. Faman S. Lohkat, Vice Chairman; Rev. King-James L. Dapar, Secretary; Rev. Gyang Dazam, Assistant Secretary; Elder Bitrus Salamu, and Elder Mrs. Glad Kudu respectively.
