A new Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS) has been sworn- in for Taraba State. He is Anthony Jellason. Also sworn in was Barr. Istifanus Haruna Gbana who is now the Chief of Staff, Government House, Administration.
In a press release by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor, Iliya Bekyu Akweh, made available to SUNDAY Standard, says the appointment was “in line with the Rescue Agenda of his administration aimed at transforming the state to an enviable height using the abundant God given human and natural.
According to the statement, Gov. Ishaku “asked the new appointees to first and foremost consider themselves as servants of the people who have been divinely singled out among millions of other competent people to serve the state and to consider the state as their constituency” and therefore charged the appointees to the actualization of programs and policies of the administration in the years ahead”.
Also in the statement, the governor appealed to “people of the state not to distract the appointees by mounting unnecessary pressure through relentless pecuniary demands but instead, should allow them to concentrate on the enormous task ahead of them”.
Gov. Ishaku however commended Sen. Aisha Jummai Alhassan for her demonstration of “politics without bitterness” and asked other politicians to emulate her style of politics.
Also appointed and sworn in were Abubakar Bawa as Special Adviser, Political Matters as well as Chairman and members of the Taraba State House of Assembly Service Commission. They are: Shehu Mohammed- Chairman, James K. Auta, Bello Bashir and Bawa Saleh Bibinu as members.
