THE chairman Plateau State House of Assembly Committee on Information Hon. Philip Dasunhas said six bills were presented on the floor of the House with one scaling through while, two were at committee level and just as three passed their first reacting.
Hon. Dasun stated this while giving the summary of the activities of the House in the last one hundred days at the House Media Center.
He explained that within that same period the House five motions on matters of urgent public importance bordering on emergency issues affecting the people of the state were raised on the floor of the House.
According to him twelve motions on several issues that touched on the livelihood of the Plateau people were also raised.
The lawmaker who represents Pankshin North Constituency in the state Assembly explained that all the motions raised by the House were given attention as the House has constituted different adhoc committees to address the matters.
While responding to questions from journalists Hon. Dasun said they have what he called a very sweet relationship with the state executive, but that it does not mean that they cannot do their constitutional responsibilities as an arm of government.
On the issue of rising security challenges, especially the activities of cult groups noting that security challenge is a global issues which must be handled by all saying on their part they have an adhoc committee that was looking at the matter with the hope of reporting back to the house very soon.
While speaking on the dilapidated state of roads within the Jos metropolis, the chairman said it was a thing of concern to the House adding that they were on talking terms with the state government to address it as soon as funds were available.
Hon. Dasun frowned at the noncompliance with the law banning the operation of commercial motor circles in some parts of Jos metropolis, but assured that the House would look into it to make sure the law is enforced to the later.
On the noncompliance to the resolution of the House by the executive, as it was done before, he said the House has constituted a committee that would be taking care of any resolution taken by the House for effective result.
On the constituency projects of the members of the House the communities’ chairman said this time around they would be pushful to achieved result.
It would be recalled the Plateau State 9th assembly was inaugurated on the 10th of June this year.
