Nigerian youths have been tasked to always identify themselves with useful attributes that would enhance both their productive and creative capacities towards becoming self-reliant and good future leaders for the country.
They have also been advised to always direct their youthful energies and intellectual capacities and abilities towards embarking on meaning activities that would add value to the society in the positive ways.
The Head of Department, Public Administration Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed gave the task while deliberating on a paper presented at a one-day symposium organized by Keffi youths and students at the Assembly Hall of the Nasarawa State University Keffi during the week.
The University Don who also stressed the need for the youths to be in the fore front of promoting good moral values, hard work, education, skills acquisition and development, stated that it is only through such attributes the future of the society could be secured and guaranteed for the betterment of all and sundry.
He stated that as future leaders of the country the youths should avoid submitting themselves as willing tools of public destruction for either politicians or people with criminal tendencies and ulterior motives rather they should always identify themselves with good attributes and people that mean well for the society.
“As future leaders whom the society look upon for future leadership the youths should always endeavour to toe the path of honour, good moral values, education, promotion of peaceful co-existence engagement in lawful socio-economic activities among others” Dr. Abdullahi stressed.
While commending the Keffi youths coalition and students for organizing the symposium, he urged other groups to emulate them with a view to collectively work and build a greater society for the betterment of all and sundry.
