Christians have been told to participate in politics so as to provide a restraining interest, advocate for justice towards providing clean society.
This was the advice given to Christians by Church of Christ in Nation, COCIN President, Rev Dr. Dachollom Datiri during the Thanksgiving service of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, to climax the end of its week held at COCIN headquarters Church Jos.
He then used the occasion to call on Christian politicians to live a highly principle Christian life stressing the need to have an intimate devotional life while in office.
The COCIN President who spoke on the topic :Christians must participate in politics, said politicians and parties have manifestos and so are Christians too.
Citing example of Jesus Christ manifesto is directed to the poor, those in bondage, prisoners, physically challenged and the oppressed.
Earlier, while speaking, the state Chairman of the NUJ, Paul Jatau while thanking COCIN for giving the union it’s place of worship for it’s Thanksgiving added that their activities cannot be complete without thanking God.
