The newly sworn-in Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Plateau State, Mr. Sylvanus Tapgun Dankano  last Wednesday formerly took over the affairs of the ministry from the Permanent Secretary, Mr James Yilnaan with a charge on staff to live above board and discharge their statutory duties without fear or favour.

According to him,the mandate of the governor which was to think and act Plateau, sued the management and staff of the ministry to put their acts together and work for betterment of the state.

Mr Tapgun who said he had just received the handing over notes from the Permanent Secretary and would not want to talk much until he studied it called on staff to put on their thinking caps together as well, work as a team for the progress of the ministry and the state in general.

He urged the staff to be committed to their duties and wished them the best as they work together for the upliftment of the state in all spheres.

While welcoming the new commissioner, the Permanent Secretary, Mr James Yilnaan thanked Governor Simon Bako Lalong for posting Mr Tapgun to the ministry who said his wealth of experience was unquantifiable that would put the ministry in the path of progress.

According to the Permanent Secretary,he had worked with the commissioner in the Plateau State Civil Service before transferring his service to Federal civil service and retired as a director was confident that he would put his wealth of experience to bear in the day to day running the affairs of the organization.

He promised to accord the commissioner all necessary support in order to succeed in the task ahead.

Speaking on behalf of Directors and Staff, Mr Ayuba Pyokdom,the Director of Finance and Supplies (DFS),welcomed the new commissioner and promised to work with him so that he succeed in his new endeavour.

The Director explained that the staff are dedicated and hardworking which are willing at all times to work for the progress of the ministry further enjoined them to be diligent and put more efforts for the commissioner to succeed in the task ahead.

The handing over which was done at the ministry was well attended by directors,staff, guests as well as well wishers.
