Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi,  has congratulated Mr Isaac Ukpoju ,Principal Correspondent of News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) for emerging the chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa State chapter.

This is contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna and made available to newsmen over the weekend in Lafia the State Capital.

He also congratulated other elected officials of the chapel for their victories while urging them to live above board.

“Onbehalf of the Rt. Hon Speaker, Principal Officers, members and staff of the Nasarawa state House Of Assembly, we congratulate Mr. Isaac Ukpoju  of News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) as chairman’s and all the newly elected executives of Correspondent’s chapel, he stated

“That is both the newspapers and online reporters of Nigeria Union of Journalists( NUJ) in the state for their resounding victory at the just concluded election, we wish you people the very best of your tenure,” he further stated.

The statement therefore called on the members of the chapel and other Journalists in the state to continue to be objective in their reportage in the interest of development.

Other officials who returned unopposed are Gambo Ahmed of Peoples Daily as Vice Chairman, Peter Ahmed of Nigeria Pilot as Secretary, Aliyu Muraki of Radio Nigeria Kaduna as Assistant Secretary, Abubakar Abdullahi  of Liberty TV as Financial Secretary and Able Daniel of the Guardian newspaper as Auditor of the chapel.
