The Vice President Professor Yemi Osibanjo has expressed delight over the purposeful commitments demonstrated by the Nigeria Famers Group and Cooperative Society at Ga’ate Farms Center in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State saying that, he is confident the farm would satisfy the local markets with rice and even start exporting their farm products to the international markets.
Osibanjo who made the observation while presenting a speech during the multi million Naira farm foundation laying ceremony of 1000 tons per day rice processing facility at the farm, stated that he has seen a lot of hope that Nigeria can work very well again.
“ If the people of this country can do all of what we are seeing here today, growing rice, other grains and also selling the products, I am very sure they will soon start exporting it” the VP said.

Abullahi Sule thanked the Vice President for the interest he has shown not only in agriculture, but in Nigerian traders and most importantly in Nasarawa State as well as in whole country, saying that his great love and commitment for Nigeria would continue to be remembered and appreciated.
I also want to use this medium to once again call on the youths in Nasarawa State to emulate from what this young men and women are doing here, so that we can now have about 10 to 15 of such farms in Nasarawa State. Because we do have the land, we have the communities that are very friendly and then we have the opportunities for the knowledge, the greatest thing that they are doing here is technology transfer and this is what we want in Nigeria and I want to sincerely thank the coordinator of this farm project ,Mr Tedheke Retson ,on behalf of the association”, he stated emphatically
Earlier on in his welcome speech, the National Coordinator/Managing Director of the farm, Mr Tedheke Retson, stated that they decided to invest in Ga’ate community in Nasarawa State owing to the fact that Ga’ate is peaceful, the people of the area are friendly, reasonable and productive.
According to him, they got to their present position from 100 hectares of land to 3000 hectares of land with minimum support despite the fact that Nigerian banks have so far failed them 100 percent .
