SENATOR Istifanus Dalyop Gyang, has advised security agencies in the country to shun politics in order to concentrate on the protection of lives and properties across the nation.
Gyang who represents Plateau North Senatorial District of Plateau State in the Senate noted that the securities involvement in politics has destroyed its image.
The legislator sated that the neglect of critical areas of constitutional responsibility by some security agencies has negatively affected the ability to perform.
Similarly, Senator Gyang called for increase in allocation for the security agencies for them to live up to expectations.
Meanwnile, the Federal government has proposed to spend the sum of N49.9 billion on some key infrastructure project in the power and housing sectors next year.
In the 2020 Appropriation bill under consideration at the National Assembly, the sum of N2 billion has been set aside as funds for the Mambilla Hydro Power project, N200 million for non struction of 215MWLPPOL Gas power station at Kaduna while N150 million will be dedicated to Afam fast power progrmame Accelerated Gas.
In the housing sector, the sum of N175 billion has been earmarked for the Federal government National Housing Programme and another N20 billion for the Social Housing scheme.
