The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has rescheduled the local government Council elections in the state earlier scheduled to hold on the 9th November, 2019 to 7th December, 2019.

This they said in a release made available to the media was due to logistics and other problems facing the commission.

A release signed by Isa Shettima the Executive Chairman disclosed that submission of completed forms would be from the 20th to 25th October, screening of the candidates is from the 4th – 8th of November.

Names of successful candidates screened will be from 11th – 13th November while from the 14th – 19th would be for the receipt and consideration of petitions and need for replacement of candidates.

Election campaigns is expected to end on the 6th of December while election is expected to hold on the 7th of December, 2019.

From the 8th – 9th December, it would be for declaration of results.

On the 10th – 11th December, successful candidates would be given the certificate of return for elected chairmen, vice chairman and councilors

Finally, there will be run-off if any in constituencies where elections proved to be inconclusive    Our Correspondent reports that the SIEC had earlier slated the elections for the 16th of November, 2019 but which has been shifted.
