As the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello campaign train continues to storm all communities in the state to canvass for the electorate’s votes, more PDP stalwarts have dumped the party in support of his re-election bid.
At the APC rally held in Insalu in the Western Senatorial District, the former Acting Governor of Kogi State and DG, Abubakar Ibro Gubernatorial Campaign Council, 2019 of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Clarence Olafemi, former Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Osanusi, former House of Assembly member for Mopamuro Constituency, Hon Eric Fiki have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for APC.
Other political stalwarts from Yagba Federal Constituency who also dumped the PDP were Barr Bola Fagbola and former Mopamuro Local Government Area Chairman, Hon Funsho Daniyan.
Receiving the decampees at the All progressives Congress, Yagba Federal Constituency governorship rally on Wednesday at Isanlu, the Governor of Kogi State and APC candidate for the November 16 governorship election, Yahaya Bello assured the decampees of equal opportunity in the party.
Earlier, Governor Bello who paid homage to the traditional rulers in the area at the country home of Chief Jide Omokore, asked for their blessings and support for candidates of the APC in both Governorship and Senatorial elections while pledging his administration’s plan for more development in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the royal fathers, the Elegbe of Egbe, His Royal Highness, Irukera thanked the governor for his effort in bringing development to the area particularly, the multi-billion naira Confluence Rice Mill in Ejiba.
