THE Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayuba said the participation of constituents in setting legislative agenda for the 9th Assembly would go a long way in achieving legislative success in the state.
The Speaker stated this during a one day Town Hall meeting organized by the House in collaboration with a Non Governmental Organisations, YIAGA at Silk Suit, Rayfield, Jos as an opportunity for those that elated them to set an agenda of development to the legislators.
According to him, they House of Assembly activities of development will be guided by the outcome of the agenda of the meeting.
Hon Ayuba explained that, as a very vibrant House of Assembly that is made up of mostly youths, since inauguration, has embarked to address the challenges the state was confronted with.
He commended YIAGA for its effort in making the youth to participate in the development of Nigeria democracy.
The Chairman, House Committee on information, Hon. Philip Dasun, while speaking during the meeting informed the participate that the main aim of the meeting was for them to participate in setting legislative agenda for the 9th Assembly.
In his address, the coordinator YIAGA Africa Center for Legislative Engagement, Dr. Ernest Edeke said, the essence of the meeting was to get contribution from electorate to help in developing a legislative agenda for the next four (4) years of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
Participant from all 24 constituencies in the state moved for the legislative agenda in infrastructural development, combating focal vices, education, health and agriculture.
