THE General Manager, Human Access Management and Administration with Dangote Projects, Dr. Sani Dawok, has been conferred with an Award of Excellence for his humanitarian services to Mwaghavul land by the National Association of Mwaghavul Students (NAMS), Plateau State Polytechnic chapter.
The occasion which coincided with the Annual Conference and re-union service of Bwalbwang Old Students Association, his Alma-Mata, took place at the Twin-Theatre of Jos – campus, Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin – Ladi, the state capital last Saturday.
Receiving the award, Dr. Dawok said “it is an honour that I receive this award. I am excited because it is coming from students who on their own found me worthy of this honour. It has spur me to continue to do more to serve human kind and the society and also contributed to Mwaghavul development and students in general.
“Well, I have had other honours and awards from the national body of NAMS, the Plateau State University Bokkos branch and here is another one. For me, is to continue to contribute to the development of Mwaghavul land by identifying talented and hardworking students where I intend to institute prize for best graduating students in all the Mwaghavul secondary schools”, he pledged.
Dawok, therefore urged the younger generation to believe that hard work pays and that, they should not look for short-cuts because job opportunities trail the hard working graduating students, hence the need for them to not to allow themselves to be used by negative vices while in school.
THE NIGERIA STANDARD reports that NAMS has over the years planned to construct students hostel for its members to help cushion the hardship students, especially Mwaghavl are faced with while studying at the polytechnic and that, the occasion was a prelude to that regard –Cultural Day/Fund raising/Award.
On his part the President NAMS Plateau Polytechnic, Comrade Lukes Dangkat Vem, described the awardee as a true son of Mwaghavul land who is worthy of emulation and that to encourage him more they decided to recognize him with our award.
He disclosed that, the construction of the planned hostel was to help their students afford accommodation at a low price instead of the huge amount they were charged by landlords.
