A member of the National Assembly, Hon Alhaji Alhassan Sokodabo, has donated the sum of N1.5m to flood victims in Gada Biyu, Konan, Mada, Ashara and communities in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to enable them buy the seedlings lost during the recent flood in the area.

The lawmaker who made the donation recently during a condolence visit to the affected communities said he was saddened by the devastating effects of the flood, which he noted destroyed crops on the farmland belonging to fadama farmers across the affected communities.

He told the victims that he has already written to the management of the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) about the incident so that the Agency could provide some assistant to them.

Meanwhile, an Abuja based fish farmers cooperative Society “Aller Aqua” Nigeria Limited has trained residents of the territory on fish farming, fish processing and value chain opportunities in order to boost their capacity in fish farming.

Speaking during a capacity building workshop in Abuja, one of the facilitators Dr Chekwube Ifeadi told participants that they would be trained on antibiotic use, danger of drug abuse among others.

He stressed that government has taken steps to strengthen the case of doing business by farmers by introducing the Micro Small and Medium Scale enterprises.
