From ANENE AIKE, Sokoto
A Member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, representing Shagari Constituency, Barrister Maidawa Alhaji Kajiji, APC, has commenced the total renovation of a block of two classrooms at the Kajiji II Primary School.
The structure had hitherto remained in a terrible shape after it was recently destroyed by windstorm.
Consequently, the affected classrooms had remained non functional, as such, pupils who were receiving lessons in the dilapidated structure could no longer do so.
However, during the recent Town Hall meeting organized by Hon. Kajiji, the concerned residents of the town appealed to the lawmaker to repair the damaged structure for them.
This, they explained, was the only plausible way to enable their children and wards to recommence their lessons in the classrooms.
Fulfilling his pledge, Barrister Kajiji has since commenced the direly desired rehabilitation, with a view to salvage the ugly situation.
According to the lawmaker, education is the best legacy any right thinking individual or government can bequeath on the youths, who are the future leaders of Nigeria.
He said, “Any society, community or nation that pays lip service to education is bound to be doomed and this portends grievous dangers for the nation”?
“We cannot therefore afford to fold our arms and allow our educational infrastructure to rot away, hence, handling the future of Nigeria with kid gloves.”
He recalled that, !he organized the recent the Town Hall meeting, with a view to collate all the needs , yearnings and aspirations of his constituents.
“By the grace of Allah, I will continue to act swiftly until all the formidable problems plaguing my Constituency are greatly redressed,” Barrister Maidawa, added.
