Christians have been strongly reminded of the need to always appreciate God in every circumstance they find themselves as believers of Christ.

President, Church of Christ in Nation (COCIN), Rev Dr. Dachollom C. Datiri who was represented by the COCIN General Church Council (GCC) Youth Coordinator, Rev Alex Maisani gave the reminder in a sermon during 10 year Anniversary/Thanksgiving service and fund raising  of the COCIN Local Church Council (LCC) Landyengre, Kabong Jos, the Plateau State capital, Sunday.

Rev. Dr. Datiri who took his reading from Old Testament said that people should not be poor in the Lord and be rich in the physical, saying that whatever people gather on earth would not be taken to heaven.

He admonished Christians not to offer to the Lord what would cause them, saying that no any gift that is too expensive or too big for God, adding that God also need the best from his children, stressing that anything for him should not be taken for granted.

He noted that proper worship of God should equally not be cheat or casual one urging Christians not to serve as expatiators in God’s house.

The cleric told the congregation that anyone who neglect God’s project would be neglected by Him, saying that giving promote God’s Kingdom, protects believers against their devoure, adding that giving also bring about blessing, especially to those who are not greedy to God in giving.

He encouraged the congregation to always give out their support for the growth of the church and also congratulated COCIN LCC Landyengre for attaining its 10th Year Anniversary.

Earlier in his Pastoral greetings, the leading Pastor of COCIN LCC Landyengre, Rev. Bitrus Chayi Bagos described the 10 year Anniversary and Harvest Thanksgiving for this year as a very special and significant one to the entire Church.

Rev, Bagos while expressing delight with the service said that the Lord has been faithful, good, gracious and merciful to the members of the congregation, saying that slowly and steadily, God is building His Church to the glory of His name.

He alluded that this year’s thanksgiving theme; is “I cannot give God what causes me nothing”, saying that this has no doubt really pose a great burden and challenged to them as they look at their lives in retrospect, adding that giving to God is returning to Him what really belongs to Him.

Rev Bagos also appreciated the COCIN President, Rev Dr. Dachollom Datiri for sending a representative who came and loaded it members with an interesting biblical teaching on thanksgiving among others.

Also speaking on the needs and challenges of the church, secretary of the church, Mr. Dahwol Dalyop disclosed that the church has a need for expansion as the church auditorium currently cannot content with the population that has continue to upsurge for the last ten years

Mr. Dalyop noted that there is also need for more classes, especially to accommodate the Sunday School Children and encouraged all its members to always avail themselves for the church weekly activities.

In a vote of thanks, Chairman Planning Committee, Mr. Joshua G. Luka appreciated the congregation for the support and cooperation accorded them before and during the thanksgiving service, urging the congregation to maintain such Spirit, in order to continue moving the church to a greater height.

Our correspondent reports that the service featured songs ministration by the Church Choir, Men Fellowship, Women Fellowship and the Church Band.
