THE chairman Plateau State House of Assembly Committee on Health has commended the Healthcare Agency for their management style saying it would go a long way in enhancing the health care sector in the state.
Hon. Daniel Listick stated this when he led members of the committee on familiarization visit to the agency at its temporary site, located in the premises of Plateau State Specialist Hospital.
He said with the primary healthcare in the state under one management there would be reward and sanctions for erring staff of the agency.
Responding, the Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Livinus Miapkwap told the committee that when they came in, they management set up a long term and short term plan, all with the aim of achieving good result that would improve the healthcare of the citizens in the state.
According to him the plan has yielded reslts that have attracted more partners to the health sector.
He announced that during the last measles and yellow fever campaign the state came second, adding that the permanent site of the agency at seventy percent completion.
On the challenges facing the agency, he urged the house to intervene for government to recruit more staff for the agency saying they were lacking in man power.
