ADAMAWA State government has awarded a multi billion Naira road project to BATCO -CTC Company for the construction roads in the State Capital.
Speaking at the flag off of the roads Thursday at Bachure to Army barracks, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said he had during his campaigning for the governorship of the State declared that the Bachure road would be his first while in office.
According to the Governor, “the construction of Bachure road is therefore a fulfillment of my promise as I had promised that this road will be the first to be constructed by my administration “.
He revealed before the mammoth crowd that witnessed flag off that when he came into office, he discovered lots of liabilities hence the delay in embarking on the projects.
“Most road projects by his predecessor were grounded and so had to talk to the contractors who have agreed to continue with the projects .
Fintiri said it was their mission and vision to make Adamawa State work again.
He assured that the contract has been awarded to a very competent contractor.
The purpose of the contract is to ease traffic flow in every nook and cranny of the State.
And to the contractors, the Governor enjoined them to live up to the desired expectations.
In his remarks, District Head of Jimeta, Alhaji Baba Paris called on beneficiaries to support and co-operate with the government in its efforts at providing the basic necessities of life to them.
Representative of the construction company assured they will not fail in this onerous task.
Our Correspondent reports that the Bachure to Army barracks road has been so bad that motorists fear to ply it. The roads to be constructed are 18.8 kilometers in all.
