THE Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has expressed confidence that the report of the committee of the Glorious Stars of Plateau would further enhance the peace building efforts of his administration.
The Governor stated this while receiving the report of the committee headed by Sir Joseph N. Ari, Director General of ITF, in the Government House in Rayfield.
Our correspondent reports that committee which was inaugurated by the governor on the November 1, 2019 was tasked to identify individuals who have made significant contributions in the development of Plateau, identify date and venue for the event and arrange for the success of the events.
Receiving the report from the chairman of the committee, and Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Sir Joseph N. Ari, the governor said that the initiative was part of a large plan to restore peaceful coexistence and enhance the way of the state to the outside world.
The governor commended the committee for completing the assignment on record time.
He attributed the success to the seriousness with which the committee took the assignment and expressed confidence in the caliber of persons who made up the committee.
Earlier, the Chairman of the committee, Sir Ari commended the Governor for the initiative which was the first of its kind since the creation of the state, saying “We believe that you have done this in your quest to ensure peaceful coexistence and harmonious living among the people and equally to identity those that may have cut their teeth from Plateau and have made a mark in a large would sealed” the whether at the intentional and national of local levels” and we believe that what you are doing is for give honour to whom honour is due”.
The chairman also hoped that government would find the report useful in its determination to change the negative narrative of Plateau State.
He reiterated that Plateau has found peace and the peace has cone to stay, stressing that it was evident by the fact that people were coming into Plateau in droves.
He expressed the gratitude of the committee to the Governor for finding us worthy to handle this assignment.
He said members are highly honoured and are available for any future assignment should they be called upon. The chairman honoure applauded the dedication and commitment of members of the committee who have worked round the clock in order to get the assignment done, why they were able to meet the dateline.
