The Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Federal Medical Centre, Keffi Chapter has  assured its members of better days ahead through prioritization of their welfare in order to improve on their standard of living.

The re-elected Chairman of the union Mr. Monday Otso gave the assurance in his inaugural speech during the swearing in of the newly elected members of the union in Keffi.

Otso stated that his first term enormous achievements in office earned him second term, adding that sincerity and hard work while discharging his duties were his guiding principles and actions which they eventually pays.

The chairman who dedicated his victory to God and to the members of the union promised an inclusive leadership in order to carry every member of the union along in the interest of peace and development.

According to him, in my first tenure, I have done well by God grace by prioritising our members welfare in the area of members promotion, skills acquisition, sports among other welfare packages.

“ I  am overwhelmed today with joy over my reelection. I  want to say that this victory is for all of us as there is no victor no vanquish and I will ensure that all contestants in this election will be part of this government so long as they are ready to work with us’’ he assured.

“   I want to assure all of you of an open door policy as I will continue prioritizing your welfare in order to better your standard of living and that of your family members, “ he further assured.

Otso however  solicited for support and  advice from stakeholders and other members of the union to enable him move  the union to the greater height.

He then urged the members of the union to continue to adhere strictly to their professional ethics in order to save lives, in the interest of peace and for the overall development of the country.

The Nasarawa State chairman of the union Mr. Ayuba Ismaila while administering oath of allegiance to the newly elected members of the union urged them to discharge their duties without fear or favour.

He also urged them to carry every member of the union along in the interest of peace and development.

The Nigeria Standard  reports that  Umar Labaran, Bala Galadima ,Aisha Akinyemi, Mohammed Bala-Yahaya and Daniel Omaga were elected as Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor and PRO of the union respectively.
