The New Ultra Modern Secretariat of the Court of Appeal in Yola the Adamawa State capital has been commissioned by the outgoing President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa.
Our Correspondent reports that the event which attracted a very large crowd had in attendance the Governor of Adamawa State and a representative of the Taraba State Judiciary among hundreds of jurists and lawyers.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri commended the outgoing Court of Appeal President for her contributions to the growth and development of the judiciary.
Fintiri said it was gladdening to note how Justice Bulkachuwa rose from the lower bench and rising to become the President of the Court of Appeal.
Governor Fintiri disclosed that it was gladdening that the Court of Appeal was being commissioned and strategically located in Yola the Adamawa State capital.
He added, “such an occasion would not have come at a better time than now when concerted efforts are being made towards the repositioning of the judicial system in the country”.
Governor Fintiri disclosed that the judiciary as the last hope of the common man hence the making of the Yola Court of Appeal for Adamawa and Taraba States.
In her comments, the outgoing President of the Court of Appeal Zainab Bulkachuwa commended the Governor and the people of the state for the warm reception.
According to her, she was happy for the contribution of government and equally recalled her experiences as the first Presiding Justice of the Court in Yola.
In her welcome address, the presiding Justice of Yola Division of the Court of Appeal, Justice Chidi Nwaoma Uwa says she considers the completion of the beautiful edifice as a landmark achievement.
