Respite would soon come the way of Plateau State civil servants, over the delay of their February salaries.

This cheering news was disclosed to Journalists, by the State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Dan Manjang, after the State Executive Council meeting, held Wednesday March 4, 2020, at the New Government House, Rayfield, Jos.

The Commissioner who appealed for calm despite the delay in the salary payment said “civil servants should exercise patience because all modalities are being put in place to commence payments soon”.

The “Plateau State Government is ready to pay the N30, 000 minimum wage but there are administrative challenges which are delaying the payments and government  has set up a committee to ensure its smooth take off. ”

“People are talking about arrears, we are talking about adjustments. This government is responsive enough and since it has been able to pay arrears of salaries in the past, this one will not be different,  the Commissioner stated.

“The revenue allocation formula has not been tampered with. The Lalong administration remains committed to its promise to pay after the necessary agreements”, he explained.
